Great DEN Doings

There's so much going on in the DEN and Discovery. Here's your to-do list for the next week. My favorite (since I cannot do the Institute with a baby cria hitting the ground in early June) is Take the Stress out of the Test. Very cool ideas.

DEN National Institute: Application Opens Next Friday
We will announce the location for this year's DEN National Institute and open the application process next Friday, March 12.

Help Us Name the Next DE Product
We need your input in naming our next DE product. Please take 23 seconds (that's how long it took Lance) to make your pick. Lance had me beaten; it took me a while longer by maybe another 15 seconds, but that's because I was trying to think of an alternative title. I am hoping that eventually Discovery does for Language Arts what they have so very successfully created for science through, among other products, the Siemens STEM Institute.

DEN Spring Virtual Conference: Connect the Thoughts
Registration is now open for our spring virtual conference. You can check out the session
titles on the blog. More details about the sessions as well as a list of in-person events will be coming soon.

Take the Stress Out of the Test
Check out the DEN Blog every day in March f
or tips on how to take the stress out of test-taking season.

Five Tips have been posted so far, and I love them all. I'm guessing students will love Porter Palmer's Tip #1. My favoirte (so far) is Palmer's Tip #5--some great classroom relaxation ideas.

Tackling Test Stress Tip #1: Positive Thinking.

Tackling Test Stress Tip #2: Chew Gum (tell me any student who won't like this one).

Tackling Test Stress Tip #3: Friendly Photo on Your Desk.

Tackling Test Stress Tip #4: Good Breakfast Choices

Tackling Test Stress Tip #5: Classroom Relaxation Activities

I have really enjoyed Porter Palmer's Tips and intend to forward the series to my school's administrators. Why not try the same with yours?

  1. Hey I love the discovery network man. And I agree, positive thinking is the first step not just to taking tests, but anything in life.
